What about all those commercials from the makers of High Fructose Corn Syrup praising it's equivalence to sugar?

Wow. Wouldnt doubt it. Its related to the over eating (especially with fast food) for sure. Dvorack on TWIT said his little store was importing the Mexican bottled Coke that still had real sugar... I'd like to know how to get that. I bet it tastes better too

@EdMaurer: High-Fructose Corn Syrup = Sugar + a little extra? @meonjaiku: There's websites and such that deal with importing products from Mexico. You could probably do a little light googling and find one. It might cost a little more, but it might be better for you too :P Although I think I linked to an article a while back that spoke of the evils of coke....hehe and no, not the white stuff ;)

I think the corn... is somehow an issue too. I think i have a light allergy to it. Hard to describe... Kinda like eggs for me... in small doses no big deal.

This country is entirely too dependent on corn for our diet...even if you don't eat corn, farm animals are fed corn to fatten them up quickly for the slaughter....then there's the whole ethanol issue...All this causes a dependence on corn for us, so if the corn producers like Nebraska have an epidemic and lose their corn....we're screwed short-term, who knows long-term. Then there's the impact of all these activities, which drive up the price of corn for poorer nations...sure, we're bashing corn here, but a little husk of corn is better for a starving child than not eating anything at all, eh?

I'm a littl intolerant to corn but I'm a lot more intolerant to wheat, so gluten-free bread and scones it is and that means mainly corn (maize) + rice flour. My intolerances hav developed in the last 10 years and are probably due to a persistent infection.
