i like this comment there: So why to make one's own? Mainly it's the typical story: because we can, and because we aren't happy with the other services. They might be right and best for some, but not for us. Jaiku was quite close, though, but unfortunately quite nothing has happened after the google bought the service, and we really aren't keeping our breath that nothing ever will.
